In 2013 we have created a three loop course taking place on the historic northern portion of the island. It is a flat and fast island exploration run. The tree lined streets are beautiful, scenic and tight. The outer loop offers some of the most spectacular views of New York you will have ever seen. Your island exploration run starts with a ferry ride over to Governors Island. There you will be directed to the START. It is a very short 5 minutes walk to the festival area.
The course has a few turns in it and some slight redirections to it. Due to construction the road surfaces may vary. You may find asphalt patched on concrete road ways and many other mixed mediums so please watch your footing. The road surface in one area in particular is cobblestones and a slight incline so we ask you proceed with caution.
There will be one main water station which you will pass 3 times (2, 4 and 6 Mile respectively) and of course there will be ample water at the festival and directly after the finish line. As always The North Face GOGI 10K tries to be as green as possible.
